COMMERCIAL HIGH-RISE BUILDING, SYDNEY CBD CASE STUDY
Since 2007, Tempest has held the maintenance contract for a landmark CBD building constructed in 1977 that incorporates retail and a theatre along with a 67-floor office tower.
Tempest was heavily involved in the implementation of strategic energy conservation measures for the building’s heating, cooling and ventilation systems.
New chillers were installed, car park fans were upgraded to VSD control, a tenant cooling tower was installed, and the chiller control strategy and heating control strategy were upgraded.
As a result, energy usage in the building was reduced by approximately 30% and the building today enjoys an enviable NABERS rating of 5.5, impressive for a building of its age.
